Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American actor and performer who started her career through clever raps that tackled the issues of sexuality and race with a the most comical of perspectives. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. When she was in college, she focused on her studies and took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. For a brief period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until she finished her studies. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet and was later released on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also included other popular hits, including the body positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The third track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide published in the year 2015, and was a different idea. After a successful career as a singer She decided to take on the role of an actor. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors as well as Storks. In 2018, her breakthrough roles included Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
